Make my Website Multilingual

Done-for-you is the fastest path to a multilingual website that ranks. Our service activates at £497 for a five-page Starter rollout with one extra language and ships live inside 10-14 working days, including native human translation, hreflang configuration, GDPR cookie banner translation, and the first month of content sync. Compare that against the self-managed alternative — £4,000-£7,000 across freelance translators, plugin licences, developer time, and 60-80 hours of your own project management — and the maths usually closes itself before the first sales call.

What our done-for-you service actually delivers

The scope is fixed per tier and there is no per-word charge. Starter at £497 activation plus £99/mo covers five core pages, twenty-five blog posts, ten products, and one extra language pair. Growth at £997 activation plus £149/mo covers twelve pages, one hundred posts, and twenty-five products. Scale at £1,997 activation plus £249/mo covers twenty-five pages, two hundred posts, and seventy-five products.

Every tier includes the technical work: full site migration if you are coming off a legacy platform, SSL provisioning, GDPR cookie banner in source and translated languages, hreflang tags wired into the <head> of every translated page, schema markup for Article and FAQPage in each language, sitemap submission to Search Console, and analytics configuration. Native human review is included on every page — we do not ship machine output without a named human reviewer signing off. The four-language EU bundle (German, French, Italian, Spanish) ships with a 15% activation discount, so the full Growth-tier four-language rollout lands at roughly £3,400 activation. See website translation pricing for the full breakdown and translate my website for the five paths from self-build to fully managed.

What the gap looks like for a typical UK ecommerce brand

A UK DTC brand doing £20-50k/month with an English-only Shopify or WooCommerce store is leaving 25-35% of its potential European revenue on the table. The maths is consistent across CSA Research, Slator, and Common Sense Advisory: 76% of EU shoppers prefer to buy in their native language and 40% will not buy from a foreign-language site at all.

For a £30k/month UK store, that is £7,500-£10,500 of monthly EU revenue going to local-language competitors. Annualised, the gap exceeds £100k for any business with even modest existing EU traffic. The block is rarely budget — it is bandwidth and confidence. Most founders we speak to have spent two to four hours pricing freelance translators and Weglot subscriptions, hit the question of "do I trust this French copy?" or "what is hreflang and will I break my SEO?", and abandoned the project. Slator's enterprise localisation tracking puts the implicit cost of self-managed multilingual rollouts at 60-80% higher than managed equivalents once internal time is priced in. Done-for-you exists for exactly this gap. We handle the technical work, the native review, the hreflang QA, and the content-sync workflow so you ship the multilingual launch instead of managing it. See is website translation worth it for the ROI maths in detail.

The 4-step done-for-you process

Step one: scope call (45 minutes, no charge). We audit your current site, count pages, posts, and products, identify the platform-specific gotchas (Shopify Markets configuration, WordPress plugin compatibility, Squarespace duplicate-site routing), and lock the tier and language scope. Output: fixed-fee quote inside one working day.

Step two: native translation (days 1-9). We assign one native reviewer per language, run the source content through DeepL or GPT-4 as a first pass, then route every page through the human reviewer for idiom, brand voice, and product accuracy. DeepL's translator documentation covers the underlying machine-translation API quality. Step three: technical implementation (days 10-12). Migration if needed, hreflang wiring per Google Search Central guidance, schema markup, GDPR cookie banner, sitemap submission. Step four: client review and launch (days 13-14). You see every translated page, request edits, and we push live. We hit the 14-day timeline on every Starter and Growth account that submits source content on time. See translate website for the underlying methodology.

Cost reality: managed versus self-managed

Self-managed multilingual rollouts run £4,000-£7,000 in year one once you account for translation fees, plugin or app subscriptions (Weglot at €15-€190/mo, WPML at $99/year plus add-ons), developer time on hreflang and schema, and the inevitable rebuild when something breaks at the six-week mark.

That figure does not include your own time. A 5,000-word site at native freelance rates of 12-14 pence per word is £600-£700 in raw translation; the rest is project management, vendor coordination, and QA. For a Growth-tier sized site with 25,000 words across pages, posts, and products, freelance translation alone is £3,000-£3,500 per language. Multiply by two languages and you are at £6,000-£7,000 before any technical work. Our Growth tier at £997 activation plus £149/mo for two languages is £997 + £1,788/year = £2,785 in year one and £1,788/year ongoing. The break-even against self-managed is at month four. See pay someone to translate website for the freelance-vs-agency-vs-managed comparison.

When done-for-you is unambiguously the right call

Done-for-you wins when you have no in-house native speaker for the target languages, no internal SEO lead with hreflang experience, and a launch deadline tied to a marketing campaign or Amazon FBA EU restock cycle. The 10-14 day turnaround is faster than any internal team building from scratch can plausibly hit, and the fixed fee removes the budget surprise.

It also wins when accuracy is legally load-bearing — cosmetic claims under EU regulation, food labelling, or unfair commercial practices directive territory. We sign every page off with a named native reviewer and keep the audit trail in your portal. For brands also navigating EU producer-responsibility filings, epr.eldris.ai handles EPR registrations across packaging, WEEE, and batteries. For UK packaging compliance, responsible.eldris.ai. For multilingual phone support, voice.eldris.ai. To start a scoped quote, contact us and we will return a fixed fee inside one working day. Our 14-day money-back on activation if scope is undelivered is the simplest answer to the "what if it does not work" question.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the full done-for-you process take?

Ten to fourteen working days from contract to live multilingual site, on Starter and Growth tiers. Scale tier with 25 pages and 200 posts runs 18-21 working days because the translation surface is larger. The bottleneck is always native translator turnaround, not the technical work. We hit the timeline on every account that submits source content within two working days of the kickoff call. If you need faster, the Scale tier supports an expedited add-on for an additional fee.

What is included in the monthly retainer?

Hosting, SSL, GDPR cookie banner maintenance, hreflang QA, schema markup updates, monthly content sync (new posts and product pages translated and pushed live), search-console monitoring, and email support — for the language(s) you already have live. Pricing is per site, per language; each additional language is a separate clone at the same tier minus 15% on activation and monthly. The retainer is what keeps your multilingual sites healthy after launch — without it, new English content stays English-only and your translated sites drift back to mono-language inside six months. See website translation cost for the full inclusion list.

What if I want to add a language later?

Adding a language post-launch is the same tier as your existing site minus a 15% sibling-clone discount on both activation and monthly. For a Growth-tier client, that means £847 activation plus £127/mo per additional language. The activation fee covers the full clone of the existing scope into the new language; the monthly fee covers ongoing sync of that language. Most clients launch with one extra language, watch the data for two to three months, then add a second language once the first is paying back. Spec four languages from launch and the same 15% rule applies to each — Growth-tier four-language EU bundle is £997 + 3 × £847 = £3,538 activation across the four sites and £530/month combined.

Do you handle Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace, Wix, and custom builds?

Yes to all five. Shopify is fastest because Markets and the Translate & Adapt API give us the cleanest hooks. WooCommerce via WPML adds a day. Squarespace is the slowest because the platform has no multilingual API — we use the duplicate-site method per Squarespace's own guidance, see Squarespace multilingual. Wix Multilingual is supported. Custom builds (Astro, Next.js, headless Shopify) are handled case-by-case but typically scoped within standard tiers.

What is the cancellation policy?

Thirty days notice on the monthly retainer. We hand back a static export of every translated page plus a redirect map you can plug into the next host. No lock-in, no clawback on the activation fee, and the 14-day money-back on activation applies if scope is undelivered against the agreed plan. Most clients stay on the retainer because the monthly content-sync work is the hard part — but the option is yours.
